OPEN
Irish Wake Funeral Attire
$125 Per Person

The journey for the guests of this literary feast begins at a wacky and zany Irish wake and ends up at a McCarthy’s Bar, with the same music, fun and frivolity found in the book, McCarthy’s Bar: A Journey of Discovery in Ireland. Your hosts Joan Cheever, Dennis Quinn, Tricia and Patrick Tobin, Irish citizens, frequent travelers and lovers of all things Irish, will host a memorable evening on the Emerald Isle in nearby Terrell Hills.

Guests will be entertained with Celtic music and enjoy traditional (and/but delicious!) Irish cuisine served by members of “the religious” community;  drink refreshing Irish libations and will learn some Irish step dancing straight from Riverdance. You will also receive a personal message from Riverdance creators Moya Doherty and John McColgan, friends and former next door neighbors of Joan and Dennis’ in Howth, Ireland. Upon your “deportation” back to San Antonio, the Mayor/Undertaker hosting the wake will certify each guest as an “Honorary Irish Citizen” and award each guest with an “official” Irish passport in your Gaelic name and a signed copy of the Riverdance DVD from Moya and John.
